“The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny.”
– Albert Ellis
After visiting a website last week where people posted the crazy stuff they built from pillows, plankets etc. in their living room, I was highly motivated to build a big yurt out of some bolsters, plankets and a big ikea inflatable round furniture for the kids. Lukas and Keagan sure enjoyed their new temporary play home.
For the second time Anna spent Wednesday at our place. The two have so much fun together and it’s just amazing how long it takes to walk the aprox. 700m from the city to our place with them because they would always see again a snail they have to check or they just decide to walk backwards for a while and have a huge giggle while doing it for no apparent reason.
On the way home from our friends:
Keagan: I really liked the vanilla ice cream.
Susanna: But we had no ice cream. That was Dampfnudeln (typical southern German warm bread dessert).
Keagan: But it looked like ice cream.
Susanna: But it couldn’t have been ice cream. It was warm!
Keagan: Tamar put the ice cream into the oven. That’s why the ice cream was warm!
Susanna: But if she put it into the oven the ice cream would melt!
Keagan (now in a very annoyed voice): She didn’t switch the oven on!
